We have a court hearing for permanent guardianship - 9/29/09! Yes, in just 5 days! This was very unexpected. Initially we were looking at at least a 10-12 day wait for a court hearing. However, because we are under a tight window of time with just a 30-day visa, the attorney used this to argue for an expedited court hearing and we were granted the request!
YEAH!!!
Pakistan is now granting only 30-day duration visas to Americans. At first we were so concerned that we would have to extend the visa, but it has actually worked in our favor!
After the 29th, we will have the favorable court decision needed to continue on to Step 2 - US Embassy and Passport and Visa.
Sweet Pea is doing great! She turned 3 months old today! We have found out that her birth date is actually 6/24/09. We celebrated with a Nap! LOL!
Uppa D (my cousin & BFF) is slowing climbing the walls, LOL! But he is being a good sport. Now that the intense documentation prep and initial filing of the court cases are done, we can maybe go out more! Sadeem will have more available time to escort us around the city. But, in the meantime, Uppa D usually works in the mornings and then naps with Sweet Pea. Then Mama can use the computer or late at night!
Below is a picture of Uppa D and Sweet Pea - Yes, there is life outside these guest house walls!
I will try to put together another montage of the guest house and our room.
For now, know that we are doing very well, in fact, GREAT! An awesome adventure and my baby daughter, how could it get any better than that!!!
~Hugs - (G'ma give Nicky an extra special hug/kiss from Mama! I miss my sweet boy!)
Love to all ~

Hi Nancy, so far things are moving along nicely. I enjoyed the montage on Pakistan... pretty different and adventurous. You are so lucky to have your dad along your side supporting you and experiencing this with you and your mother holding up the fort at home. You are fortunate to have great parents that support you with this dream that is soon to become reality. I'm looking forward to reading more...
EXCELLENT NEWS!!! :)
