Here is what we have been doing . . . Getting ready to travel to adopt Sweet Pea (now less than 1 week!)
Since I'm not sure we will be in our present house after the 1st of the year, I didn't want to create a nursery twice. And, even if we were going to be here indefinitely, we simply have not had the time to turn the office into a nursery. So, we are turning Nicky's room into the "Children's Room". Sweet Pea's clothes & essentials will be in Nicky's room, but she will sleep in a bassinet in Mama's room.
We have gone through toys, toys & MORE toys to make room for little sister. Nicky has really done very well with this & has definitely narrowed down to his favorites. This has freed up 1/2 of the room to put a changing/diaper station, 1/2 of the dresser & 1/2 of the closet. We have completely cleaned out, painted & reorganized the closet for the children's clothes. Along with, bags & bags of donations.
How did I do all this in less than 48 hours? Well, the excitement of being a new mama helps. But, I have always been able to work the "whole night through" when needed (reminiscent of my college days, LOL!). So, after the room's closet had time to dry for 24 hours . . . I fed, bathed & put Nicky to bed . . . put on a pot of coffee . . . and went straight to work! By 6:00 a.m. (yes, early!) the next morning, I was just putting the finishing touches on the closet & rooms (along with cleaning out the office where Sweet Peas's clothes have been in piles!). Here are pictures . . . of the room as it came together!!! (which, if I do say so myself, I'm pretty proud of!).
Mama cleaned the closet & dresser out!!! (No where to put anything at this point!)
Office - A sampling of the many "piles" of Sweet Pea's clothes. This child will not lack for something to wear!!! :)
Nicky "helping" Uppa D with the new paint job on the closet!
Mama then spent the entire night hanging, sorting & organizing clothes & "stuff" for my sweet children! (I LOVED every minute of it!).
Below is the end result. I am PROUD!!!

Oh . . . and after the marathon night . . . we had Nicky's school picnic & 1st soccer game today!!!
NOW - - - since I have been up for over 24 hours, I'm going to try to get some sleep (hopefully I can sleep, after all of that!)
