I'm the "Big Brother"! . . .

I wanted to share what Nicholas thinks about being a "big brother"! I told him the news with a special "gift" for him to open. He was initially a little disappointed that is wasn't a brother. But I explained to him that a sister absolutely CAN play baseball, soccer and fire fighter. He just needed to let her grow a little bit first. He was OK with a baby sister then. :) He wants her to sleep in his room . . . But mama needs to come in when she cries. And . . . he only wants to change the pee-pee diapers not the poo-poo diapers! LOL! He keeps telling me that he will "try" to be a good big brother to little Sweet Pea. I absolutely know my little guy will be the best big brother!

He asked me "Mama, why is my baby sister in Pakistan? Don't all babies come from Russia?" I just smiled and told him that babies are born in all different countries. And, some babies are born first and then they are adopted by their forever families. God has a special plan for every baby born. He then thought for a moment and said, "Mama, I think God made a very good decision (he says this word so cute!)." That deserved a big hug from mama! He is just soooo cute and sweet and funny!

All the excitement aside, I am listening to his every word as he asks questions. He is 6.5 years old now and through all the preparation of the documents, apostilles/certifications, etc., he is finally putting 2+2 together and now has some specific questions about his own adoption. I have been expecting this and have cuddled, hugged and shared his "story" with him over and over. He is the love of my life, pure joy and I want him to know how very special adoption is for both parents and children.
