Sunday, (16th), it was a wonderful, sunny day in Pakistan (about 65 degrees). The excitement of the day was, we were allowed to visit MG at Edhi Home (orphanage), again. We went to the market 1st to get her a treat & spotted Cheerios! We took the Cheerios & a small pink elephant toy with us. We spent about an hour with her. It was amazing . . . She LOVED the Cheerios, but didn't quite know what to do with the toy! However, when the caregiver came in for her. . . she quickly tucked it under her arm as she was passed back to the caregiver (she wasn't about to give it up!). It was a sweet sight to see her so excited! We had tea with the Edhi Home workers before we left.
Then we attended a Christian church (St Thomas Church). It is the same church we attended last year. They have an English service at 11:00 a.m. with many different countries represented. We met several people that remembered us from last year & we remembered them as well (I guess 2 blonde/blue Americans really make an impression)! A couple from Australia, English teachers from Germany, Wales & New Zealand all remembered us. It was a grand reunion over hot milk tea! Of course, we are always conscious of where we are . . . we have to go through security (hand wand) & have all bags inspected before we can enter into the courtyard of the church. A subtle reminder of where we are . . .
We have lost power only 3-4 times so far! If it is during the night, the space heater goes out & it gets rather chilly (it gets down to 30-35 degrees at night)! But, everything is going very well. I think we are finally past the jet lag stage. Dalend has been working about 6 hours a day, so I have been squeezing in my computer time between his naps!
Take Care . . . I'll update again soon!
